5000 added!

Acts 4:1 Now as they spoke to the people, the priests, the captain of the temple, and the Sadducees came upon them, 2 being greatly disturbed that they taught the people and preached in Jesus the resurrection from the dead. 3 And they laid hands on them, and put them in custody until the next day, for it was already evening. 4 However, many of those who heard the word believed; and the number of the men came to be about five thousand.

If up to me, I would choose to talk to common, unreligious folks about the Lord! Witnessing is always spiritual in nature yet for some reason, more receptive to those whom never heard. Maybe it's because the light is contrasted best in the darkness! A dimly lite room is painful on the eyes! Our pride deceives us into thinking we know it all! I never tire of hearing the simple gospel message, for its the power of God that saves my soul! I applaud and get joyful when anyone speaks or walks in the gospel. So why this response by the religious elite, greatly disturbed? Simply put, they didnt have Jesus, and they simply had no good news, and they rejected that which they needed most! Persecution has never hurt the church, it has only ignited the flames of God's love. This day, 5000 souls received Jesus and was added to the kingdom, not to bad! Many of which, fruit from Jeremiah's labors! Who was Peter and the gang quoting? Not themselves! Lord, how I love Your word, Your people, Your purpose You came, to save sinners as myself. Please allow me the privilege to reap the harvest once again. Oh how I miss that great joy of being a part of even just one sinner being born again by God's Spirit! Sometimes, I feel as if I'm in a season of sowing all the time. That's necessary, but I want to reap as well! I want to be as Daniel stated it, be wise and shine like the stars, for Jesus!
