A bondservant

James 1:1 James, a bondservant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ,


James, Jesus' half brother. He came to the place that I came too as well. That I am a bondservant (doulos) of God. A doulos was a slave by choice. One who, by law would be released the after 6 years, but chose to stay with his master. A doulos loved his master and knew his best life was found under his masters care. Now, what a perfect description of how I feel toward my God, the Lord Jesus Christ. I died to my flesh and the life I live is found only in Christ. As James, let the 1st identification be this, that Im a slave by choice to Jesus! My best interests will always be found in Jesus! My dependance upon God only grows with every passing day.
