A godly pastor, Epaphras

Colossians 1:7 as you also learned from Epaphras, our dear fellow servant, who is a faithful minister of Christ on your behalf,

Epaphras was the pastor of this church in Colosse. What little is said about him here actually speaks volumes to me now. I never saw the depth of this man's love for Christ & His church until now. Whats told us: fellow servant & faithful minister! Every church needs an Epaphras to pastor them. The only way a pastor can be effective is when he allows himself to be lead by Jesus. When the pastor is the example of a servant. Jesus told us, those who desire to be great MUST be a servant to all. Being a pastor myself, its guys like this who really speak volumes to me on how to lead the church. As we discover this amazing church in Colosse, these gentiles converted to christians, and show us the recipe to success. Where did they learn Jesus? This wonderful brother Epaphras! Oh Lord, help me to stay faithful to You as this brother Epaphras has been. To continue to lead Your church into faith, love, & hope of the gospel. The only reason I stand and remain standing is the Fathers faithfulness.
