A slave to the church?

2 Corinthians 4:5 For we do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord, and ourselves your bondservants for Jesus’ sake.

This was one of many impactful verses for me this week at the pastors conference. It confirms and reaffirms my calling as a under shepherd to Jesus' flock. Im 100% good with being Jesus' dulos, slave by choice! After all, He is good. But Paul says more than that, he was the churches slave FOR Jesus' sake. Thats much harder to grasp. Some sheep bite! But this is what I signed up for willingly, to love His sheep, not mine! To feed His sheep, because Jesus shed His blood for them! I never did that, Im just a servant! The LORD knows, I try to love all He brings before me yet I KNOW I have lots of improvement to go on being a slave to Christ body. Lord help me be that shepherd that makes you proud. That loves those of whom You shed Your precious blood for. My goal has always been to love my brother whom I can see if Im ever to say I love God of whom I cant see. This verse is a good gut punch, thank you LORD.
