Adam, Eve, what are you wearing?

Genesis 3:21 Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them.


I remember, how truly freeing and independant it felt to finally pick out my own clothes. I cant tell you truthfully what I picked out was a good choice. I guess, independence isnt always what it is cracked up to be. Very subtly, God performed the first animal sacrifice, or it appears so. They clothed themselves in fig leaves, yea, not a good idea, but here, God clothes them in sheepskins, soft and comfy. His righteousness comes at a cost. Free to us but cost Jesus His life. This animal had to die for Adam and eve to be clothed. Garments are always synonymous for righteousness.
