Battle for Souls

Acts 2:40 And with many other words he testified and exhorted them, saying, “Be saved from this perverse generation.” 41 Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them.

Peter battled for lost souls! He could have just been content on living a quite peaceful life back in Capernahum. Of coarse not! Nothing but Jesus would ever satisfy. Jesus never leads us who have been radically saved from darkness, to be quite hermits. He just preached an amazing sermon but now throws in testimonies and exhortations! I love Peter's heart here, fight hard for the lost, as we were! The powerful guidance of the Holy Spirit paid off with the addition of 3000 people added to the church that day! At the giving of the law of Moses, 3000 died! Letter kills but the Spirit gives life! Reception of the glorious gospel of Christ always reaps the harvest!
