Christianity is love in action.

Matthew 7:12 Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.

A form of this was used years before Jesus uttered these words, however in a negative sense such as "dont do to others what you dont want done to you." This has some value but isnt revolutionary by no means. Jesus instructs us to actively pursue doing things for others in a positive manner. What should we do? Good works. I love good works done to me so why think it strange to seek to bless others? The only motive for this is agape, aka love. All the summation of the law & prophets is fulfilled in this love. God poured out His love in me thus the only reasonable response is be a conduit of His love and do good unto others.
