Cut to the heart

Acts 2:36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ.”

37 Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Men and brethren, what shall we do?” 38 Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call.”

After Peter's Spirit filled preaching, the peoples reaction was conviction, not condemnation! Cut to the heart! God's word cutting away the carnality, hardness of the heart. This is spiritual surgery. This change of heart always brings repentance from sin. Turning to Jesus. Receiving the Spirit that was promised to you. Do you hear the Lord's calling you? If not, listen more intently! He is calling you. I remember vividly when He cut to my heart. Everything changed. He still cuts to my heart, in which I'm grateful! I want to experience all He does! It's a gift to walk this life feeling His joy and peace. There's no going back to dead religion. Empty philosophies. Godless living! The cross before us!
