Do not forget the poor among us.

Galatians 2:10 They desired only that we should remember the poor, the very thing which I also was eager to do.

One huge, practical agenda the early church had was keeping their hearts on the poor. Why? Well, we are one step away from joining them. However, doing so firms up pure & humble service without the motivation to manipulate or drain from those we say we serve. The poor have nothing to give, monetarily speaking. They have lots to offer by other means. Its all about rememberance of the poor. Dont forget. If, in this rememberance, we see a financial, spiritual, or emotional need, and we are able to help, thats the right thing to do. Ministry that is so haughty that it neglects the poor among them, have failed their mission and have a huge void in understanding the heart of our LORD. We must not assume the poor are just homeless. We are all spiritually bankrupt without Jesus. Jesus, I am a poor soul in complete gratitude for the abundant riches You supplied to me at Your expense. Im not ashamed to say Im poor & weak in of myself because In Him, Im rich & strong.
