Empty me, then top me off.

Romans 15:13 Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Great great prayer. Its also a desire that the LORD puts into our heart. I want to bring attention to the words "fill you." See, before we can be filled with the Spirit, we must be emptied of ourselves. John the B said, I must decrease but He must increase. Why dont I experience His joy & peace? Im not emptied of myself, my pride, my insufficiencies, my wars. Belief is next and trust coupled together. The abundant hopefilled life is only found in Jesus Christ. LORD, please continue to empty me but fill me with your delight.
