God wants us involved.

Matthew 7:7 Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.

8 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.

Ask, seek, knock. All actions. This takes initiative on our part. The most important part of this however is the Who, that we ask, seek, and knock. Pride will keep us from coming to Jesus. Pride wants to write off our lack and call it even. All God has for us is right there for us, we only need to pursue Christ. Mens problem is that we often ask, seek, & knock in all the wrong areas.
