Has the Spirit warned you?

Matthew 3:7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his baptism, he said to them, “Brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the wrath to come?

Very bold but very needful to call out the religious leaders here. We all can go thru the motions as these guys. Do a religious duty just because its the trend. Yet, John pleads to the heart of the matter, "why are you here?" Is the Spirit doing a work in you or you just coming for info or a show? People were hearing and feeling Gods conviction. They responded. They were made aware of their sin and a judgement of Gods wrath upon sin. So, John simply wanted to know, who warned you? I suggest, if man is the only source of the warning, your heart wont respond, however if Gods Spirit coupled with mans obedience to share His word, this brings about a true response. God truly only needs Himself to get this job done, but He loves to use us.
