Hatred is murder

1 John 3:14 We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love the brethren. He who does not love his brother abides in death.

15 Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.


This is a very clear passage. Harbor hatred for your brother, you are a murderer and the life of Jesus doesnt live in you. Oh how this stings my flesh yet what freeing truth before me. When Jesus is "invited" into our lives, He exhibits His love to those who hate Him. Hatred is equal to murder in Gods eyes. He came to save and free His enemies, whom satan has decieved. I never want to be pinned as hating my brother ever, for that will never reflect my LORD. We may hate the sin that enslaves them but Jesus died for them! Satan will often speak lies to us telling us "they hate you". Not so!
