How close are you to Jesus?

Matt 26:58 But Peter followed Him at a distance


I want to chew on this. What Peter did here, is what all christians have gone through. Some are there now! Some will fall away because of their distancing from Christ. That is tragic, its a downward spiral! Our sensitivity to His Spirit becomes dulled. Then we excuse away a loving Savior. However, the wild card in this, if we come to the awareness of this seperation, this great divide, we actually can come out of this deep pit stronger, closer to Christ, more grateful than ever before! Peter did and so can we! Its no shock that I distance from Him but what great love and seeking us out Jesus will do for us. His word is not far from us, He's closer than we know! If we draw near unto Him, He is already running toward us! Can you hear the sound of the Fathers feet running unto you? What great celebration the Father throws when one sinner comes homes!
