Imitators not imitations.

1 Corinthians 11:1 "And you should imitate me, just as I imitate Christ."

Paul commends us to imitate him as he imitated Christ. Not every one of his ideas, thoughts, or actions was of Christ. However, that which was, imitate. Truth is truth regardless of who gives it. Jesus spoke of the pharisees, do what they say but not what they do. If they are pointing you to scripture, do it, but not by their interpretations of it, which was off base. They told others to live godly but they did not. Paul strived to live godly and imitate Jesus in his life. The pharisees were imitations.
