Israel Day 1
Updated: Jun 25
We had a full day today, beginning with Caesarea by the sea, currently ruins & mostly still buried. Such magnificence, yet today, just a reminiscence of its past glory! Like all worldly splendor, it only deteriorates. Yet, what God does in our heart gets better over time. This once, city for Caesar Augustis, can never compare to what God has done in a willing vessel, that wont fade. The gentile church was begun here, under Cornelius. The church, unlike these old bricks, still flourish today.
Next we went to Mt Carmel, where Elijah challenged the 450 prophets of baal.
Then, it was off to Meggido, where many of battle were fought and the last battle will be fought here. Then to round the day out, we visited Nazareth. Jesus was raised here, as a carpenter of wood & stone. He didn't get fed with a silver spoon. He worked hard. This region is so physically hard. The question, "can anything good come out of Nazareth?" is answered in Jesus.
Day 1, has impacted this pastor in some amazing ways.
