Mans righteousness?

Genesis 3:7 Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves coverings.

The awareness of their sin is now evident. They feel the shame. So they sowed fig leaves together and tried to cover themselves. Very itchy leaves.

When man sins against God, he seeks to reset or cover it up. But thats futile. God already sees. Mans attempt to be righteous is rather hilarious. He goes deeper into this decieved state of comfortability, to find peace, but only resulting in an uncomfortable itchy situation. When we dont come out right and be honest with God, this is the only comfort we enjoy. There is billions of people, right now, who have clothed themselves in "fig leaves" when all they need to to is come to the Savior who loves them, who has already become a sacrifice for them. LORD, will You clothe me and help me in Your righteousness today?
