Not my will, but Yours be done

Matthew 8:19 Then a certain scribe came and said to Him, “Teacher, I will follow You wherever You go.”

20 And Jesus said to him, “Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head.”

This scribe is an excellent example of what requesting to follow Jesus is like without counting the cost of discipleship. Of coarse we are to desire to follow Jesus, but He wants us to have eyes open to, and aware of, what it means to follow Him. Selfishness, no room for it. A path without pain & suffering, not yet! Selfish ambition, burned away! Jesus is all about building His Fathers kingdom.
