Power over sin

1 John 2:1 My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.

Ah, another important reason for this letter, that we may not sin. In Jesus, we now have a choice! He has freed us! What will we do with our new found freedom? Reality is, we fall to sin but great news, we have Jesus in our corner! He is for us, speaking before the Father. No backroom deals, just righteous actions based off Christs work on Calvary.
