Promises Kept

Acts 2:1 When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3 Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

50 days after Passover, on the day of Pentecost, the church was formed. The promise, by Jesus of the Holy Spirit, given to those who obeyed, asked, waited upon Him. I realize this text brings lots of division in the church, what a shame and playing into the enemies gameplan! Never lessen the power of God to change lives by His Spirit and amazing super human experiences take place. I wont go into to much details about what took place here except this was Gods doings, not satans! Tongues is our heavenly language, building ourselves up in most holy faith, speaking to God, not men, a prayer language if you will, bypassing our minds. Everyone doesnt have this gift but anyone can ask for it! I need it, you need it! Here, interestingly, many different nations and dialects of people were present and they all heard Gods wonderful works in their tongue, not just Hebrew! This coincided, I believe, in the unity and being in one accord. Their filling of the Holy Spirit effected all those around them! Thats the point, the only way to reach this dark, dying world is to be filled by His Spirit. I am crystal clear on the fact I need filled daily! Ive experienced the contrast. I know I cant do Gods work in mans strength. I ask my Father to fill me with His Spirit everyday!
