Recieve Jesus, dont reject Him

Matthew 2:4 And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he inquired of them where the Christ was to be born.

5 So they said to him, “In Bethlehem of Judea, for thus it is written by the prophet:

6‘But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, Are not the least among the rulers of Judah For out of you shall come a Ruler Who will shepherd My people Israel.

Herod gathers all those who should know where this messiah was foretold to be born. So Herod knows this is the messiah? Shows me the hatred satan has toward God to push herod closer to wanting to kill Jesus. Also, here is Gods grace toward all those priests and scribes who was forced by herod to figure out where the Christ would be born. In that they searched the scriptures. They had ample evidence through the scriptures to see Jesus as their messiah, yet they rejected Him instead. Not because of a lack of knowledge about Jesus, but a wicked heart. Men today dont reject Jesus because of a lack of evidence, its still a wicked heart. We all had that heart until we recieved Jesus in as Lord and He gave us a new heart.
