So what does God look like?

Colossians 1:15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.

I find it interesting that God has never, up until Jesus, chosen to be seen physically. We read of many encounters of His glory, yet no recorded features. I believe by design. Every religion has their featured idol lifted up on pedestals. Its probably the reason Israel sought after the idols of the lands. It takes a disciplined person to be good with just experiencing the presence and power of the Almighty even though one cant see Him. But we have Jesus! The image and exact representation of the Father. Even with Jesus, nobody recorded His physical features! Again, by design, because behold men would create Jesus idols, humanity already does. We look more like our Father when we walk as Jesus, in His love, grace, mercy. Those are the features we cant make idols over. I am to display Christ in my life.
