The Holy Spirit
Mark 1:8 I indeed baptized you with water, but He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.
Acts 1, the disciples had to wait in Jerusalem for the promise of the Father, His Holy Spirit. Acts 1:8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon (epi) you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.
Biblically, there are 3 relationships the Holy Spirit has with man. 1st, the unbeliever, before one receives Jesus as Lord, the Spirit is para, with, man leading him to Jesus. 2nd, when a person is born again, the Spirit comes en, inside, makes residence within the believer. Yet there is a 3rd experience and that being right here in this passage, when the Spirit comes epi, upon the born again believer. This is technically what is referred to as being filled with the Spirit. Being filled to overflow. To sum up this much needed experience, one cant be an effective witness for Christ without this! This is the dynamite power to live after Christ. Many christians, saved, born again, will never be effective witnesses because they havent received this experience. Peter and gang, before Acts 1:8, weak, timid, uninspiring. But after Acts 1:8, boldened, courageous, effective in kingdom building. I read this but I know this by experience. Father, please pour out Your Spirit upon me a fresh and new!
