The Lord as Helper?

Psalm 54:4 Behold, God is my helper; The Lord is with those who uphold my life.


Never in a million years, would I assume that God is a helper. He made the universe! He is God! We help Him. Helpers have a stigma as if they are in apprenticeship training. Until I got to know the Lord. The crazy saying, "God helps those who help themselves" is so wrong and unbiblical. Fact is, we cant help ourselves. Good news is, Jesus knew that all along and helped us in ways none ever could or would. He delights in helping us. He doesnt consider helping us as humiliating. He became a servant of all.
