We are limited, He is limitless!

1 Kings 17:12 So she said, “As the LORD your God lives, I do not have bread, only a handful of flour in a bin, and a little oil in a jar; and see, I am gathering a couple of sticks that I may go in and prepare it for myself and my son, that we may eat it, and die.”

Reality and resting in Christ. The woman literally was at the end of her abilities. The mind naturally assumes what will happen next. But this is faulty as we insert the LORD into the equation. Back 45 years ago, my folks just left the amazing paradise of Hawaii, dad got out of the air force after 4 yrs, and pursued a promised job in saint Louis MO. Reality set in, the job fell thru, they had 3 kids and one (me) on the way. No job! Money running out! Bills to pay. Now Hawaii was a spiritual awakening of Gods Spirit for them. Their faith was growing and being stretched. My mom recalls driving home and my brother Brian seeing KFC on the way home, wanted some and mom said, "we dont have money for that." In fact the cupboards were empty. She had a biscuit with some ham I believe. That was it. She recalls saying, "Im going to give the kids the biscuit and I guess thats it" This widow woman came to her mind. Just then, they received a call from my dads family. His dad had a heart attack. It was humbling, he said we cant come. They didnt understand why. Dad told them, we dont have enough gas! Immediately they wired money and God provided in many ways by many different people, all explaining how God told them to give at this point in life. No other time did they experience this outpouring of charity. Gods provision is so amazing and never late, He just allows us to dig in deeper and trust Him. By the way, my grandmother loaded the car down with so many groceries, mom said the kids barely fit in the car. Lol. These were my beginnings, from a set of God trusting, Jesus loving, Spirit filled parents whom God was stretching. I was born at a time we literally had nothing but strong faith. God blesses abundantly and His provision is without limits! So much more to this story but point being, we will not just die off!
