What about us?

Matthew 3:9 "and do not think to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones.

Many of us pride ourselves on our lineage, if its noteworthy, as did the religious leaders here. They rested in father Abrahams walk and relationship with God. But God calls us to a personal relationship with Him thru His Son. Its nice to have those who followed after Christ in our past but it means little as regards to our standings with Christ. Every one of us must choose for ourselves, Jesus, and invite Him into our lives. And a stoney, hard heart, well God can take care of that by replacing it with a heart of flesh.
