What is of most value to you?

Matthew 6:19 Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal;

20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.

21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.


Jesus isnt saying that we are not to have treasured things. He isnt even saying we arnt to work hard and have these treasures for our children after us. He is saying that we arnt to live chasing after these supposed treasures. Its a vain pursuit. Chase after God and you wont have to worry about these earthly treasures, that will fade. We can only take with us those treasures God gives us. I work hard for everything I have, the fruit of my labors, but I chase after those things God offers me. Its funny how men place such value on gold when God uses it as pavement in heaven. What will you deem full of value and worth? The things of God or this worldly coin that is in all fairness, losing its value every second. There are no uhaul trucks behind hearses. My heart, I choose, to live after the LORD.
