Phil. 3:7 But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ.

8 Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ


All that my flesh has aquired to gain clout, position, but ultimately favor with God, Wont help one bit toward having Christs favor. Paul isnt speaking of ones hard work going to college or their disciplined abilities to save or make money, unless those are being done apart from the Lord. Context is this, everything done without God, apart from God, in order to please God by your own merits. All the religious rituals done by mans abilities and strengths apart from faith in and thru Christ, well, is worse than animal excrement! I want to continue in Pauls steps by forsaking all my self righteousness and seek after His. To be clothed in Christ' righteousness. I dont want this worlds gains, give me Jesus!
