Whos the Boss?

Matthew 10:24 A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his master.

What a simple truth but so easily disregarded. Jesus is the Teacher. Jesus is the Master. We, His disciples are His students. I find it to easy to be in the place where Im commanding Jesus what to do. Not outright, but in subtle ways. By the way, I believe its easy to do this with Jesus because He is so humble and kind. He doesnt treat us as servants, but as very important team players. We let that priveldge and freedom go to our heads, thus sometimes barking out the orders. Peter was in a good spot with Jesus, Jesus reveals they will all betray Him. Peter says, not so LORD, even if all these do, I will never. We all know how that turned out. Even when it hurts to hear, we need to listen, be sensitive to the LORD, learn from, and grow when He speaks. He is our Teacher, not us. He is our Master, not ourselves. Lets chose to rest in Him.
