Is Jesus Your Foundation?

Matthew 7:24“Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: 25 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. 26 “But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: 27 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.”

Jesus is telling us who will listen, you must 1st hear His word but 2nd, you must act upon His word and obey it. I must be a doer of the word of God. What is Gods word telling me and how will it affect my life? There should be visible change. Jesus is the only solid foundation. When we listen to His word and obey it, that foundation in our lives is set. Our life is then built up by various things and actions. The difference in this parable is the foundations or lack thereof. Those who hear and do not obey Gods word, well, they are building their lives on the sand.
Those built upon the rock or sand both face the same trials but only those built upon the solid rock of Jesus Christ as they hear & obey Him, will stand. On Christ the solid Rock I stand! All others are sinking sand.
