False Professions of Christians by John
Oh what a day as we discover the six false professions Christians often make. There is no better time to clean up any sloppy agape love we may have. Inconsistent statements:
- If we say we have fellowship with Him. 1:6 “but walk in darkness” must walk in the light.
- If we say we have no sin. 1:8 denial of sinful root. “Man is good” self deceived Must confess our sins. All has sinned. All are spiritually dead due to Adams sin.
- If we say we have not sinned. 1:10 claiming sinless perfection. Make God liar
- He that says I know Him. 2:4 Don't keep His word is a liar. John 14 he that keeps Gods word, God loves & perfects. If you know Him, than you know He is a God who holds His word above His name.
- He that says he abides in Him. 2:6 Should walk as Jesus walked. If you say you live in Jesus but don't exhibit Jesus in your life, your deceived.
- If a man says I love God. 4:20 & hates his brother is a liar. He that loves his brother lives in the Light. How in the world can a man say he loves God whom he cant see but hate a brother he can see? Key proof you are His is your love for the unlovable at times brother!

John makes it amazingly clear. Simplicity itself taken at face value, but in reality it's a matter of making decisions to follow the example of Christ, and living daily under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. It all starts with surrender and repentance, the rest is lived out daily, lovesick for the One who loved us first and most.
