Lessons of the Last Supper (Wednesday)

At this point, things are getting really tense for Jesus' disciples.  Jesus has been doing some really radical things, not that anything prior wasn't, that will project Him to the point of no return as the religious leaders sought to firm up their plans to murder Him.  Jesus had already specifically told His disciples He will be killed!  Now at this last passover dinner, as the Passover Lamb will be killed the next day, on Passover, sits and empties Himself for those He loves.  He begins by a very humbling, selfless, service that only household servants would do, He washed their feet.  To think, the God who made those feet as well as everything else, washes them and serves in hospitality.  Leaders lead!  Jesus using this as a teachable moment only because Peter rejected the thought of this act!  John 13:8 "If I do not wash you, you have no part with Me."  John 13:14 If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. 15 For I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you. 16 Most assuredly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master; nor is he who is sent greater than he who sent him. 17 If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them.
My Jesus has given me an example.  I must serve others as He has served me.  The greatest shall be the servant of all.  No exceptions!  I desire to be great and reflect my LORD thus I must then also serve as He has.  Im clear on this and resolute.
