The unknown God can be Known

Acts 17:22 Men of Athens, I perceive that in all things you are very religious; 23 for as I was passing through and considering the objects of your worship, I even found an altar with this inscription: TO THE UNKNOWN GOD Therefore, the One whom you worship without knowing, Him I proclaim to you:

It was said of Athens that the city had more idols than citizens.  Very religious people right?  I like to look at it this way, they were the most callous hearts on the planet!  How you ask?  Well, every idol must be made, protected, paid for, propagated.  Now, if these folks are doing all this, when has their idols ever showed any form of life, proven it lives, or does anything other than sit there and collect dust?  So, they hear Paul talked to them about a Living God they don't know!  He can be Known, but only through this Man Jesus Christ.  These religious folks are really not much above unbelievers really.
See, it wasn't until I realized, God speaks, and God lives, God moves, that my life changed.  What seemed to just be a mental figure, God, far and distant, suddenly became personal, close, alive, God before me.  I began to understand that He has been taking care of me the whole time.  That there is nothing I can give or do for Him that will advance His cause.  However, I also discovered that I have nothing to offer but a sin riddled heart, in which, by the way, He desires me to give to Him so He can replace it with a heart of flesh.  He has done everything for me.  Religion vs Relationship are vastly different.  The only way to know God is to receive and walk with Jesus Christ.

The most freeing aspect of life, to be freed from religion and move into relationship with the the Lord Almighty. In Him is life, breath, love, joy, and mercy that He supplies and enables us to share with others. What a privilege!
