Jesus Our Sufficientcy

Hebrews 9:28 so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.

Jesus only needed to die once for our sins.  I have seen some Christians come to the alter multiple times thinking the previous commitments didnt take and maybe this one will.  I certainly dont want to lessen ones response to the Holy Spirit in obedience, but the idea that the power of the blood of Jesus not able to wash them previous is misunderstood.  I have committed many sins after my first time being washed by the blood.  Truth is, Jesus has been washing my feet after those but my heart has been made clean at conversion.  The wonder working power of the blood of Jesus is the only source of washing of sin.  He is coming back for me and all that have been washed in the blood.

In so many ways Christians seem to question the efficacy of the Blood of Jesus, while His sacrifice is all sufficient and all powerful for all eternity. We often return to that thinking of believing it is our responsibility. Our sole responsibility is to accept with joy and thankfulness the salvation He freely offers, and then walk out sanctification in our lives by following Him one step at a time. Yes, we will make mistakes, errors in judgement and sometimes outright willful sin, but He has patience and love beyond our comprehension to get us back on the path. He doesn't question our salvation. He knows the price He paid.
