God Calls Us to Difficult Things Sometimes
Luke 2:4 Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David, 5 to be registered with Mary, his betrothed wife, who was with child.
This wasn't an easy homecoming by far. Joseph and Mary's family doubted the validity of this pregnancy. Would I doubt it as well? Joseph did at first. This was a 100 mile trip to a place Joseph knew was going to be difficult but though the natural edict of Caesar, it was required. I've been in this bind before a few times in my life. Having to confront something I really never wanted in my life anymore.
Gods will goes beyond my comfort and ability to understand. He sees the full picture. There is a greater plan than I can even fathom. I have found also, that through the pain is reconciliation. Look, what possible way would Mary's Son be born in Bethlehem if not this way? I don't trust my obedience to His still small voice but I trust Him. I trust God works supernaturally in natural ways in that which involves me at times. As a child of God, men don't call the shots concerning my life but the LORD is in control.
