Who or What Do You Run Too?

Psalm 25:1 To You, O LORD, I lift up my soul.

When I read this, something about it really takes hold of my heart.  David had no one other than the LORD at this point.  Often, he had little to no time to think about his next moves for his very life from king Saul.  His soul in utter fear and turmoil.  Yet this stalwart discipline to press through all the hardships life brought him enabled him to see his Hope in the LORD.  I lift up this broken hurting soul to You Jesus!  This wasn't easy for David and its never easy for you to do this but its our only refuge & hope.  God time after time miraculously saved David.  Why?  I believe because of where David ran to.  Not away from enemies but unto God.  God, I want to run to you every time Im in distress.  I want to lift up my soul to the One that matters and can truly help me.  LORD, I lift up my soul to You.  Who else is with David on this?

Me! I desire for Him to be the first thing I run to. Preferably before I start spinning out.

He is my strong tower, my refuge, the One who covers me with His wings. David knew these truths about the Lord God, and though his life was frequently messy, God never failed or refused to hear David's cry of repentance, his heart of trust and worship. God has not changed. He still hears us.
