Purchased by His Blood.
Acts20:28 Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood. 29 For I know this, that after my departure savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock. 30 Also from among yourselves men will rise up, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after themselves. 31 Therefore watch, and remember that for three years I did not cease to warn everyone night and day with tears.
God loves you so much, He gave His life for you. He bought us back from the worlds enslavement upon us. Paul talks to those wonderful shepherds who proclaim the good news of the gospel. The church is not mans! It solely belongs to God. Jesus Christ came to redeem us back to God. Paul in the same breathe, also warns us of wolves and false teachers. Men who call themselves for their own exploits, the world is full of them, the church is full of them. They are savage! Their ways will tear and kill those whom Jesus came for! As a pastor, I take this warning seriously. I dont play when it comes to this. The sheep of God that He has placed in my care must get my full attention. Oh, these guys talk a very big game, but listen closely, they are speaking perverse things to draw men to themselves, not God. This has been a sure test to discern if one is for the LORD or for himself. Does he make disciples? And to whom are those disciples following? It better be Jesus. So, be alert, watch. Paul did not cease to warn night & day with painful tears for 3 years. You are not your own, you have been bought with a price, and that price is the blood of Jesus.

Thankful that the Lord provides genuine shepherds to oversee and care for His church. A true and increasingly rare blessing.
His word says that He will raise up shepherds for His people. Many get thrusted into the position that God never called. Thats absolutely horrible for them and for the people. The shepherd must know that the sheep belong to God. When shepherds assume the sheep are theirs, they have already done the sheep a unjustice.
