Wisdom among Enemies

Acts 23:6  But when Paul perceived that one part were Sadducees and the other Pharisees, he cried out in the council, “Men and brethren, I am a Pharisee, the son of a Pharisee; concerning the hope and resurrection of the dead I am being judged!”

Paul is rather genius.  He was a very smart man, both religiously and practically.  These two religious groups, Pharisees and Sadducees, were on two totally different channels from each other.  Paul attempted to turn their focus upon each other.  Religious people love to tear into folks, its what they specialize in.  Paul knew, the Sadducees don't believe in the afterlife.  Paul appeals to the Pharisees about the hope of the resurrection, in which they believed, just not Jesus'.  Nobody ever could or has rose from the dead except Jesus!  He is the First.  Everything about Paul and our Christianity hinges upon the resurrection of Jesus.  Great way to point out one of the most important, or the most important part of christianity.  Paul is using his logic mixed with Gods wisdom and power.  Does anyone of us truly know how to navigate all the issues we have in life?  Its a daily walk with Jesus, a daily filling of the Holy Spirit.  A constant coming to God and seeking His ways thru a dark world and angry people.  LORD, please direct me today in Your perfect will.

Amen. That moment by moment walk and communion with the Lord in the minefield of a world that is being stalked by the one who hates Jesus most. We need to be more aware, and more sensitive to the Holy Spirit each day. Paul is a great example of that reliance and trust in the Lord.
