Kill Paul or die trying
Acts 23:12 And when it was day, some of the Jews banded together and bound themselves under an oath, saying that they would neither eat nor drink till they had killed Paul. 13 Now there were more than forty who had formed this conspiracy. 14 They came to the chief priests and elders, and said, “We have bound ourselves under a great oath that we will eat nothing until we have killed Paul.
I would love to hear an update on these dedicated fellows. They wanted to be Promise Keepers. Forty of them say we will kill Paul or starve to death first. It would only take weeks to determine this outcome. They didn't kill Paul, thus did they fulfill their promise? Its my hunch, they did not! In fact, Im convinced maybe some of them got saved! Jesus got through to them, I hope, exposed their error and revealed Himself to them. Im sure this testimony exists, but I don't know. I do know, God isn't regulated by our promises and so thankful for that. I cant fulfill anything of my own flesh or abilities. Maybe there are 40 skeletons out in the wilderness somewhere, but even mans promises don't supercede self preservation. My baseless promises in self are no match to a nice steak and potatoes dinner waiting for me at the house. I'm glad I don't have to die because my Savior, Jesus Christ, died in my place. I just need to live in Him! Even if one takes my life, Im still alive in Him! Christianity is all about life and living abundantly.
