Don't Put Jesus Off

Acts 24:24  And after some days, when Felix came with his wife Drusilla, who was Jewish, he sent for Paul and heard him concerning the faith in Christ. 25 Now as he reasoned about righteousness, self-control, and the judgment to come, Felix was afraid and answered, “Go away for now; when I have a convenient time I will call for you.”

Felix is looking for a payout, ransom money if you will.  He is curious about the faith Paul exhibited.  Paul proclaimed boldly about righteousness, self control, and the judgement to come.  I would love to have this talk recorded!  He threw Felix off, taken back by the sound doctrine of Paul.  Felix, not knowing what to do, sends Paul away.  He will talk more about this at a more convenient time.  There is never a better time than now.  The LORD will always lead one to salvation today!  We are never given tomorrow.  Today is the day of salvation.  This is a sad story about Felix yet this is a sad reality about millions of people every day that have put off Jesus and enter eternity apart from Him.  Salvation has nothing to do with convenience.  Yet it has everything to do with bringing peace to your storm.  Experience tells me, that call will never come for a convenient time.  LORD, open my eyes to every opportunity before me today.  I thank you for allowing opportunities to serve no matter how inconvenient they are.  I think of the lady who had a blown tire 30 minutes before our worship practice.  She had nobody to help her but I was going to be late.  Well, we got her tire swapped out and ministered to her, and still made it to practice in time.  The world makes inconvenience but LORD, You make life livable.

Thank you for meeting me with her. I tried to drive past and not worry about it. But God said, no, you go back! This is my appointment. 🙂

Sensitivity to the leading of the Lord, and willingness to serve are the hallmark of those who have truly given their hearts and lives to the Lord. It is such a joy and privilege to see this alive and working in you and Missy, and in our fellowship. Today is always the best time to surrender to the Lord. Each day in the life of a Christian is the day to choose obedience to our Father.

There is a saying, "why do today what you can put off until tomorrow." Thats an enemy to the cross. We must never put off such important, eternal decisions. Also, the Spirit filled living, day to day sensitivities to the Lord, must be activated at the moment directed. I was putting epoxy coating down in my garage floor. Once activated between two chemicals, you dont have days, or even hours! It had to be applied asap! Gods direction is this way. Logically accepted yes, thought out, yes. But never put off! Most ministry Ive been a part of is not convenient to my carnal desires, but Im to be ruled by His Spirit now! Im freed to serve and live now!
