Teaching Sound Doctrine
1 Timothy 1:3b charge some that they teach no other doctrine.
Timothy was charged to this command, not by Paul, but by God. The church belongs to Jesus thus it must be Gods word given to His church. The word Charge is a military word meaning to give strict orders from a commanding officer. The word Sound means healthy, so the order is to teach, instruct in healthy sound good doctrine. We never consider one verse doctrine. Doctrine is formed by using all of Gods word together, in perfect harmony. One verse can hold doctrine but it requires being supported by many verses! Paul taught the whole bible. Paul instructed using all of Gods word to the churches. Any other doctrine, than the sound doctrine laid forth 1st thru Jesus Christ, then His apostles, is never to get attention.
My orders are loud and clear. Im charged to teach only Gods word. I believe I have done this and will continue in this charge until the LORD takes me home or He returns. The church is charged to support sound doctrine by receiving it and rejecting all other doctrines.
