Does Your Eye lead You in Light?
Matthew 6:22“The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light. 23 But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness!
Another very intriguing word by Jesus! Your eyes seem to be a place of great importance. We've heard the false statement, "Its okay to look, just don't touch" and my has that been the devils playground. Jesus says the eyes are a lamp. A lamp lights up and allows us to move around in the darkness. We now have flashlights. The eye sends data to the mind but spiritually it sends data to and from our hearts. What we look upon, our hearts desire. If your heart is evil, sinful, your eye looks for evil, sinful things. Many offenders accuse innocent victims of evil things they are doing because they assume others do what they do. Wrong! An evil eye leads us to evil things. A good eye leads us to godly things. The godly look at things as God does, with hope and love. The evil eye only sees the bad in man, and throws in the towel on humanity out of frustration and hatred. So, again, How do you see life now? I see a messed up world that without Jesus as it's Savior, will perish however because of that, I see a loving God who gave His only Son to come and die in their place. Each person is offered Gods redemption. I see a world, that is messed up, just like I was, but can be changed, just as I was. I see a God who loves His creation regardless of whether they deserve that love or not, I learn toward not. My eye sees a bright future!
