Sheep with Wolves

Matt 10:16 “Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves.

Just so I'm clear here, this is Jesus speaking!  I thought You loved me?  Why would You send me out among wolves?  Then tell me to be wise & harmless?  This really messes with my carnal theology!  I must simply look at the clear facts.  These are disciples, not lords!  At no time, has Christ ever forced a disciple to be a disciple.  If I want to save my life, I guess I'm free to go out and try that, but as Jesus said, I will lose my life ultimately!  My life is found and safe in Jesus Christ.  Now, yes there are harmful wolves out there, whether a disciple or not, the wolves are there!  Jesus at least informs us of facts & truth!  Now, what Jesus is most focused on, is all the lost sheep out there that the wolves are devouring!  Jon, I send you out there, where I have gone, to gather My sheep.  Danger, yes!  Sufferings, many!  But the joy of rescuing the lost sheep is overwhelming.  Be smart!  The enemy is out there seeking to devour everything God loves.  Be wise as a snake, they dont like to confront, they would rather take another path.  And doves, like sheep, arnt known for their fighting abillities!  There are like, zero mascots of killer sheep or doves!  Lions, tigers, bears oh yes, born killers!  You disciple, dulos, servant by choice, if you wish to take this mission, be wise & harmless as you go after the lost sheep for rescue!  If not you, then who?
