That Faithful Servant
Matthew 24:45 “Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his master made ruler over his household, to give them food in due season? 46 Blessed is that servant whom his master, when he comes, will find so doing. 47 Assuredly, I say to you that he will make him ruler over all his goods. 48 But if that evil servant says in his heart, ‘My master is delaying his coming,’ 49 and begins to beat his fellow servants, and to eat and drink with the drunkards, 50 the master of that servant will come on a day when he is not looking for him and at an hour that he is not aware of, 51 and will cut him in two and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
In many jobs I have had, we would have scheduled audits. We knew when to pay extra attention to safety and policy. In my opinion, that's not ever going to be an accurate assessment of business. I always knew when the big wigs were coming to the plant. I knew when the auditors would be in house. Yet, when it comes to Jesus' coming, none have an inside scoop. I've always wondered why we cant just always have the department running as it should? Always work safe from the leadership down? We are to be faithful servants unto Jesus. We don't know when He is coming for us but we don't really need to. He will soon be here! We only need to be doers of His word, not just hearers. We must be about our Fathers business. A good servant serves regardless of whether his master is there or not. We must be aware that our Master, Jesus Christ, is always watching. He is always with us.

I had a job in a working lab environment. My area was a bit messy. My coworkers area was neat and tidy. He spent much of his time cleaning rather than getting the actualjob done. So when the "big wigs" came by, he appeared to them as having evertything in order. I wasn't trying to impress them with appearance, I was working to get the job done.
nOur job as Christians isn't to give an appearance. Don't try to impress people with looking like a Christian, show them by the work you do. Likewise, don't just try to impress Jesus, show Him.
Well said ! Jesus knows our heart and our intents . I'm going back to a job I had my flesh doesn't want to but I serve my lord and Savior so I keep telling myself ,I will trust you !
Yes, I do know how you feel Quincy. I would go into a job, I once used to love, but no longer did. I would do all my job however my heart was with the church & ministry. I didnt quit but allowed God to close that door for me. There were still people to share and show Christ to there. When the time was right, I knew it was time to close that long chapter of my life. Let God open & close doors in your life, oh what an adventure that is!

nBob, the world breeds those who do things to get things in life. Appear busy! Your right, just be busy doing Gods work, sometimes its messy! If there is no mess, then no work is being done either. I never was making something and there was no mess.
