Israel's True Heart Toward God
1 Samuel 8:7 And the Lord said to Samuel, “Heed the voice of the people in all that they say to you; for they have not rejected you, but they have rejected Me, that I should not reign over them.
This has got to be the hardest thing as a Jesus loving Christian. Your actions caused Israel to sin in this manner yet the plan forward is, Listen to them. They have already rejected God not Samuel! This breaks my heart and I never want to be the cause of anyone rejecting the LORD. Obviously, the great grace of God is evident and they are accountable for their own actions. Yet, I do not accept the notion that my decisions in life doesn't come with accountability. Samuels sons were just an excuse to reject God. If not then, they would of used something else, this Im sure of. Let's walk in such a way that we are not penalizing ourselves or those around us. I never want to give anyone an excuse to reject the LORD.
