Not Quit Blessing Your Son
We have power to bless and to curse with our mouths. Saul had such pride that he could not reject his own foolish oath, that he follows thru with cursing his own son for his foolishness. Okay, stand your ground religious man! You dont reflect the heavenly Father!
1 Samuel 14:44 Saul answered, “God do so and more also; for you shall surely die, Jonathan.”
Saul discovered his son Jonathan ate the honey and broke his oath. So this is where a truly humble man will repent and make things right. Saul does neither. This is one instance the saying "the apple doesnt fall far from the tree" applies. Jonathan, a mighty man of God and Saul, a carnal man. My son has done things wrong from time to time, as have I, yet I would never curse him to death! Maybe its because the Living God lives in me now! Maybe because the Spirit of God wont lead me that way. Im sure my life before the LORD would be similar to Saul here. Praise the LORD for His great grace.
