Fellowship with God
1 John 1:3 that which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ.
The good news of Christ is simply put, God opened up fellowship with Himself & man. Jesus has done all the work. Jesus has destroyed the overwhelming obstical called sin and death, nailing it to His cross. Fellowship in its deepest meaning is communion with God and commonality. This is unheard of in religion. The reality that I can have a meaningful conversation with God and He cares to listen. The fact that He loves me so much that He sent His only Son to die so I would not, just mind-blowing. My sister in laws response to this amazing action as we went over Genesis 22 about a fathers love for his only son who he was willing to sacrifice. She began to shed tears thinking about that act as I was declaring that this was only a type of what our Father in heaven did when He would sacrifice His only Son, Jesus, on that same mountain a few thousand years later. The promise was, I will provide Myself a sacrifice on this mountain, mount Mariah, the same mountain Jesus was crucified. Oh, and by the way, the first mention of the word love is found in Gen 22, in context of a Fathers love for His only Son. She felt what I had felt when I first realized what God did for me. Complete gratitude and amazement. Fellowship with God never gets old, just more desired as we go along.
